The UK have produced an agreement plan with China to form a ‘Clean Energy Partnership’ which the government reveal that the two counties will work together in research and industry.
However, with the agreement edging towards nuclear and offshore wind, leaves solar lowered down the pecking order.
A government statement announced: “Both the UK and China are determined to find the right solutions to deliver clean, secure, and affordable energy for all. The agreement will support our efforts to tackle climate change and provide energy security for decades to come, helping to reduce energy bills for hardworking businesses and families as well as growing the low carbon economy,”
The Department of Energy and Climate Change said that this agreement would encourage “more investment in clean technologies” with UK companies will now have “more opportunities” to access the Chinese market.
A UK-China energy started with just one solar firm: Zhejiang based module supplier Jinko Solar.
