Another growth week in November. With sub 50kw install’s up by 53 from the week before. This now takes the total number of sub 50kw registered installs to 487,098. With 5 weeks left to register installs this year, it is not looking like the industry will hit the half a million mark. If the current trend continues over the rest of 2013 then we are likely to be around two to three thousand short. So we should see it happen mid-January.
We are seeing a fast approaching demand for 50kw plus systems. This is of course due to the FIT drop in January, will this have an effect on the sub 50kw’s installed in December, we will have to wait and see. Some people may put the smaller jobs back to complete the large ones, but we don’t foresee any major effects.
With a lot of news feeds coming out this month about the governments green tax thoughts the Renewables secotr is again getting uncertain press. However there is still a positive outlook for PV with plenty of reports stating that the FIT plans are not to be affected. We have also seen reports about the reduction in cost of PV manufacturer. Will this feed down into supply, it should do eventually, but time will tell as to when this will happen. The next big news release to keep an eye open for will be the final decision on the Chinese anti-dumping regulations which is due by the 5th December. So far no one seems to be talking about any new changes happening, so we are not likely to see this make waves that have not already crashed on our shores.
