German company Rawlemon, formed by architect Andre Broessel, is a company that have a vision to change the way to produce energy, going by their slogan ‘The future is not green, it’s transparent!’.
The Beta.ey allows you to charge your phone through a USB cable. This product combines a revolutionary concentrator photovoltaic module, a full transparent ball lens acting as an atmospheric lamp during the night, and a breakthrough micro dual-axis tracking unit assembled with high efficiency solar cells – all into one photovoltaic module.
On a larger scale, the Beta.ray 1.80 outdoor generator also features the micro dual-axis tracking unit. The Beta.ray 1.80 comes with a hybrid collector to convert daily electricity and thermal energy at the same time. The efficiency levels reach nearly 57% when operating in hybrid mode. To go along with the aesthetically appealing design, the ball lens working as a lamp to illuminate by using LED’s.
Broessel commenting on the revolutionary solar project said: “We all know that the sun is the greatest sustainable energy source available to us on earth. For more than 40 years, technology has helped to transform this source into electric and heating power.
“The problem is low efficiency: the vast majority of photovoltaic panels worldwide have a performance of just 15% or lower; and if the panels aren’t tracking the movement of the sun in the sky, there are further losses of 40% during the year.”
